Post up a Notice

First GET ACCURATE LOCATION then click POST A NOTICE to put a Notice on the map.
Enter one or more of the following: a headline(max 75 characters), a photo or short video(max 15 secs), a YouTube or Twitter link, the text of your Notice and your name if you wish.
A copy of your Notice is shown here in the Control Panel; you can edit it, delete it and change your marker symbol as well as replying to messages.
Include key words or your name to help people find you or your product!

Markers

The target marker shows your current location. Notices posted from a MOBILE are marked with square icons and those from home or work BROADBAND are marked with a round compass or rep symbol.
Using your mobile change your icon by clicking it to open the icon library, touch and hold on an icon in the library to get it's number then enter the number in the icon box and click edit.
Using broadband change your repping symbol from Compass to Marketeer, Tradesperson, Local Admin or whatever.
When you post a Notice the marker shows the approximate location not the exact location you posted from so that people can't get your address from it but they know what area you live in. You can choose whether to show or hide your markers in CHANGE MAP SETTINGS.

Control Panel

Use this Control Panel to edit your Notices and to send and receive direct messages about your Notices.
***Remember*** Noticeing uses your location as identity so you must access the Internet from the same location as your Notice to edit etc.

Search Highlighting

Noticeing features Search Highlighting, a map based search that highlights Notices containing a keyword or the name of the poster. Use it to find people with the same interests or into the same activities. Use it to find local tradespeople, shops and restaurants and to find things for sale or recycling in the area around you.

Enter keywords or names into the NOTICEING finder box, top centre. Try a common word like 'the' to see how it works, Notices with the word in the title are highlighted in purple, a word found in the text is highlighted green and Notices associated with a name are highlighted yellow. No need to type enter after the word or name the finder works asynchronously!

Marketplace

This Map screen is like a marketplace where you can find people with the same interests, find out about upcoming events, buy, sell and recycle, find local artisans and tradespeople, get advice from local residents, find jobs, accommodation and much more.
Browse by pointing at the markers or search using the Finder underneath the NOTICEING logo. Search Highlighting highlights markers whose Notices contain the keyword searched or the name of the person posting. There's a Connect button below every Notice so you can message the Noticer.

Location based Identity

NOTICEING is built around geo-location. Location is used to centre the map on where you are, to show posts from the area around you, as a form of ID so you don't have to sign up or login and to validate voting on Notices.
GET ACCURATE LOCATION gets your location using the HTML5 geolocation API which is much more accurate than using the location associated with the IP of your Internet service provider. We recommend you use this.
Remember, you do need to be in the same location you were when you posted the Notice (or keep the noticeing.com tab open in your browser) if you want to edit or delete your Notices or send and receive messages.
If you're wary of showing where you live when you post a Notice on the map, be assured your location is randomised and not accurate on the map so your marker can be streets away from where you actually live. If you want you can hide your marker(s) on the map - just go to CHANGE MAP SETTINGS and select hide markers.
