BACK FROM A LOVELY HOLIDAY ON THE GREEK ISLAND OF EVIA

    vote(0)

We went to Evia, which nobody has heard of but is actually the second largest Greek island, because we thought it wouldn’t be touristy and that turned out to be exactly true!
Ryanair to Athens and the port of Rafia is quite close to the airport so we were over to Evia on the ferry the next day.
The Mediterranean Sea is so beautiful, lovely turquoise/blue colours, gorgeous little coves and beaches and warm and wonderful to swim in!

BRING IN THOSE GERANIUMS OUTSIDE IN WINDOW BOXES, THEY DON’T LIKE THE COLD!!!

    vote(0)

I was glad i remembered to bring in the geraniums i’ve had outside in a window box during the long hot summer, they don’t like the wet or the cold or the frost and bringing them inside gives them a new lease of life.

I write in formal objection to the proposed South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood scheme, on grounds of serious legal, procedural and substantive failings. Based on the evidence so far, the scheme is unnecessary, unsupported by robust data and likely to cause harmful unintended consequences.

One of the things that makes Bristol so attractive is the number of stone buildings!

This would make a lovely cafe. Why don’t Bristol City Council lease it out and make a little money on it.

RESEARCHERS MAKE BREAKTHROUGH IN GENE THERAPY FOR DIABETES KIDNEY DISEASE

    vote(0)

Scientists at the University of Bristol have developed a pioneering gene therapy approach that targets the tiny filters (glomeruli) in kidneys to protect people with type 1 diabetes from developing serious kidney damage. ?
In pre-clinical trials the therapy produced a around 60-65% reduction in a key marker (albuminuria) of early kidney damage. If successful in human trials, it could offer a one-time intervention instead of ongoing treatment.
