MONOTHEISM

Monotheism is a religion with only one god as practiced by Arabs, Jews and Christians in and around Europe and the Mediterranean. The picture is an observation that this is the way it is or, to be more accurate, this is the way it was! I got interested in monotheism when I was writing a play called ‘The magic life of Tutankhamen”because it became apparent to me that the Pharaoh Akhenaten was the originator of monotheism back in 1,200 BC when he announced ‘There is only one god and that god i Mores the Aton’.

This is quite a complicated painting. It represents love between the working class and the upper class. Everything is a bit higgledy piggeldy because the old empire has collapsed. In the background is the old stately home, there’s a fountain in the garden and balenced on the top of the fountain is LOVE.

4. There’s a new type of search on the map screen that highlights markers whose Notices contain the word searched. Use it to find local tradespeople “plumber” or people interested in the same things “tennis”, there’s a dropdown under the Notice you can use to contact the poster.
5. On the timeline you can comment, reply to comments and vote on Notices. There’s a search that you can use to find Notices containing keywords or Notices posted by people whose name you know and you can increase or decrease the size of the area you search from local, to city, to national and beyond.
6. From the map or the timeline screens you can open a control panel that you can use to edit or delete any Notices or comments you have posted. On Noticeing you are 100% in control of your content at all times.
7. The Forum screen opens when you click on the crown below the title and above the vote on a Notice. It’s the place where you can comment on or otherwise enter the debate on local issues and so on.
8. Noticeing doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t store any information on you!
NOTICEING is the place to be because it’s grounded in the area around you, it helps you make friends with people living or working nearby and connect with the local community.

THE FIRST BOOK OF BUILDING

THE FIRST LAW OF BUILDING:

THERE ARE LOCAL MATERIALS AND INTERNATIONAL MATERIALS.

I think that’s the only law, but it needs a lot more looking into!
Local materials are what is available locally for building: local stone, local sands and gravels, local clay, local wood, local thatch.
International materials are the same wherever you go in the world; glass, concrete, asphalt, steel. They are processed materials.
What the law means essentially is that the use of local materials is good and the use More of international materials is bad!
The obvious observation is that buildings and built environments built using local stone are more beautiful than buildings and environments built of international materials.
After all, why do tourists flock to Venice, Prague or Kyoto.? Because they are beautiful.

THE NEW MODERN
ARCHITECTURE

LEANING TOWER OF PISA

This picture is an attempt to show how a "New Modern" architecture can evolve out of "Classical" architecture. The "New Modern" is more "Expressionist" than the "Classical" and more compositionally sophisticated than plain "Modern".
This is a work in progress, a picture for the series "The Architectural Muse" which will be starting quite soon. The Architectural Muse is intended to be the go to resource for advice on designing new buildings or adding to the already existing.
This picture has had quite a complex evolution Moreand is not finished yet. It started with a photocopy of a Ben Nicholson drawing. I then added in various bits in the same style, notably on the tower itself. Some colour was added with felt tip pens. The picture faded over a number of years. Then I took a photograph of it. imported the photo as a base layer in the Graphic vector art app then added blue lines for sky, terracotta for rooves and green for grass.

SILVER HOUSE

Hi, my name is Mike Brown, my screen name is MB37, and I have built this website and I made this picture!
The drawing of the building is black ink on paper, the yellow window colour is probably acrylic and the background is done using a silver spray.
It comes from a period when I drew/painted quite a lot of buildings similar to this one. The challenge when you are drawing the walls and windows is to get it right first time, there are various factors, the perspective, the allignments, what’s in the foreground and backgroun Mored, the shadows and so on that have to work otherwise it doesn’t look right.
We are used to seeing buildings nowadays where lines and alignments are very straight, but it doesn’t have to be like that, when things are a bit wibbly-wobbly they look more natural and pleasing to the eye!

THIS BEAUTIFUL WOMAN WAS WAITING FOR ME

At the moment I’m running a magical reality thing over the Suspension Bridge in Leigh Woods. I can’t really explain how it works, it’s very subtle and beyond rational explanation anyway I found the painting in the tree house that is next to the thatched cottage. I’ll tell you a bit more about Magical reality sometime, you could say it’s the imagination, but sometimes it can spawn real 3D physical objects!

Kind of fascinated by this image. The original pencil drawing has been processed using the Prisma app into what looks like a glass bead mosaic! The design is by me, I did it while on the Italian lakes, Lake Garda I think, but it reminds me of something I would expect to find on kite in Mongolia, it has a Chinese feel!
